Daylight saving time 2027: the dates that move your international meetings

By the AlignHour team at CelaVox · · 4 min read

If you meet clients or teammates in other countries, these are the nights in 2027 when the gap between you changes. Put a reminder a week before each one and re-check your recurring meetings.

2027 clock-change dates by region

Southern-hemisphere countries move their clocks forward in their spring (September–October) and back in April. Some areas inside these countries, such as Arizona, Queensland or the Northern Territory, don't change their clocks at all.

Countries that keep the same time all year

Pakistan, India, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Singapore, Japan, China, Mexico (most of the country) and Brazil do not change their clocks. Their gap to the US, the UK and Europe changes by one hour twice a year.

  • Karachi and London: 5 hours apart in winter, 4 hours from 28 March to 30 October 2027.
  • Karachi and New York: 10 hours apart in winter, 9 hours from 14 March to 6 November 2027.
  • Manila and New York: 13 hours apart in winter, 12 hours from 14 March to 6 November 2027.

The "odd weeks" between the US and Europe

Because the US and Europe change on different Sundays, the usual 5-hour gap between New York and London becomes 4 hours twice a year:

  • 14 to 27 March 2027: New York has moved its clocks, London hasn't yet.
  • 31 October to 6 November 2027: London has moved back, New York hasn't yet.

Recurring meetings booked "on London time" will appear an hour earlier or later in New York during these weeks. Check them, and tell attendees in advance.

How to avoid surprises

  1. Book recurring meetings from a calendar with a named city time zone, not a fixed UTC offset.
  2. Set a reminder for the week before each date above.
  3. For the odd weeks, send a short note: "Our Tuesday call will be at 10:00 New York / 14:00 London for the next two weeks."

Stop doing time-zone maths. AlignHour shows each person's local time for every meeting and uses real time-zone rules, so daylight-saving changes are handled automatically.
